Rain Rain, Go Away…

While I get that we needed some rain, this is getting ridiculous. The kids have cabin fever, our house has lots of fun leaks, and I have errands that need to be run. Good times all around! After this finally passes, I have to get some goop to seal up all the cracks around our sliding doors, we need to get gutters installed to prevent future crazy rain from funneling onto our porch area, and I am finally going to paint. I got a little sample can of the red that I like and painted up 3 walls with it to show Mike how awesome it’ll look and he actually likes it. Not just “Eh, do what you want” likes it, but “Hey, that does look good” likes it. So the wall on either side of the fireplace, the wall opposite the fireplace, and the kitchen will all be red, and I’m going to try to paint the cabinets a chocolate brown. I picked the blue for Malachi’s room as well. Now I just need to find a green for Rosealyn and a tan for Mal and we’re set. The kids love the colors and are super excited to have everything “colored”. We also only have a few more boxes and bags to sort through before everything is unpacked. Once that stuff is out of the way, I’m going to rearrange the furniture in the living a bit to hopefully give us more space, or at least the illusion of more space. But first, the rain has to stop. It’s hard to get the motivation to anything when it is pouring rain and grey and dark all day long.

Friday we’re registering Rosealyn for VPK and hopefully touring the preschool we want to send her to. Grace will be sleeping over that night and hanging out Saturday as well. Noah might be sleeping over Sunday night. The following Thursday I’m having my very first ever cavity filled. Not fun. Then the first week of June the kids and I will be staying in Brooksville along with my mom and siblings for about a week. We’re hoping to do all the fun Tampa stuff while we’re there, like the science museum, Lowry Park Zoo, Cypress Garden, possibly Busch Gardens as well. We’ll see what we can cram in/afford. Hahaha!! The kids are really excited about the trip. Mike wants to plan a camping trip for sometime this summer and some other cheapish vacation as well. The kids are finally getting old enough to really enjoy vacations and for us to enjoy vacationing with them.

We’re going to combine the kids birthday parties again this year, probably for the last time sadly.  Rosealyn has requested a pool party, so I think we’re going to do a luau/pirate/castaway a la Backyardigans style party. Hopefully that’ll work for both of them. I still have to work out the date and time, but it’ll most likely be closer to Rosealyn’s birthday than Malachi’s.
